Heat and humidity... that pretty much defines T-dot right now and not entirely all thanks to the Roadmix - it's just damn HOTT!! We have a mix of brand new bangers to feature in the Roadmix this week and were looking for feedback on most - phonelines were buzzing, but don't stop there, email or leave a message on this blog if you're feeling the mix. Flo talked about her weekend road adventures and we announced the 'Open Format' dates for the summer. Last Monday of every month (we open up our music library to play all genres: hip hop, soca, reggae, house, etc. (don't worry R&B lovers this is only for the summer - lol):
Another solid mix of your Canadian homegrown talented artists... we stopped to feature a few tracks off Lorraine Reid's brand new album release 'Lessons Learned' - and might I say... take this lesson and 'don't sleep'! - this album is hella good - full of fiyah. Shouts out to the Up From The Roots camp on this one. As usual if you're a Canadian artist, get your music through to us at: info@tmlradio.com
Easter Monday in the city... some of us were off work, while others were on the grind. We weren't any exception; the show featured new music throughout and inside the Maple Mix we had special guest in studio Kayte Burgess. Another one of our foremost R&B crooners who we've lost to the States, but on the rare occasions she's in town she always shows love - and what better place to reach out to Toronto's R&B audience then inside the flagship for R&B in the city - Toronto Morning Live. Shouts out to Kayte for passing through and sharing some knowledge with the listeners.
We say this with the release of every new album, but this is seriously my favourite album out right now... The New Amerykah, Pt. I!!! And if this is any indication of what's in store, Pt. II is going to be insane. We featured a few tracks off the album inside the Roadmix, as well as more heatery by the request of our listeners. This morning saw us entertain a bunch of special guest and have some fun with the music - like we always do! Keep tuning into Toronto Morning Live each Monday, we'll have more surprises coming your way.
